Who We Are

Superior Forestry Service, Inc. began as a partnership in 1980 and, in August of 1987, incorporated under the laws of the State of Arkansas. Since then, we have become one of the largest commercial forestry contractors in the United States.

Superior provides labor services for forestry-related activities including tree-planting, brush control, and utility Right-of-Way management. Our target market includes Paper Companies, Forestry Consultants, Large Scale Tree-planting operations, and the Electric Utility Market.

Superior is one of the largest companies in the country performing these types of work.  The company does business in roughly 24 of the 50 states with an exceptional workforce consisting of hundreds of workers working on an itinerant seasonal schedule.

Superior’s management boasts over a century of combined experience in the forestry industry and our office and field staff are adept at handling all aspects of our work.  Our area managers are savvy about weather conditions, seasons, worker availability, and other factors affecting our contracts.  This allows the company to carry out its operations with confidence.

Each Season our workers hand plant over 100 million, 12” to 16” pine and hardwood seedlings. Superior’s founding members developed the company’s signature 7-Step Planting Method, which allows a worker to plant trees almost as fast as he can walk.

During Superior’s Vegetation Management Forestry program, our crews treat some of the same plantations we planted to control unwanted weeds and brush. This treatment helps the young seedlings grow strong and healthy.

Superior’s Vegetation Management Right of Way program revolves around keeping the power and utility line easements clear of trees, brush and vines. The majority of our Right-of-Way work is done using low-volume backpack sprayers containing a diluted mix of environmentally safe products. These treatments are supplemented with targeted hack-and-squirt and basal applications to ensure the integrity of the Right-of-Way easement being maintained.
